Hawk's Prairie Casino was the first non-tribal casino built in Washington State from the ground up. Opened in 2001 it has been a very successful business venture for the investor group that was formed to create it.
Lu was hired to develop the overall interior theme; interior design & specifications; lighting design & specifications; millwork design and specifications; and review/coordination of interior build-out during construction.
Lu was Principal for Hospitality Facilities at Connell Design Group when he designed and executed this project.

Lu has designed hundreds of custom carpet designs for his projects over the years. These have included both axminister and print type carpets based on the changing durability and technology advancements over the years.

All the custom lighting design and standard lighting design layout, specifications and lighting energy calculations for the casino were performed by Lu.
Lu was responsible for overseeing all final lighting fixture placement, adjustment, and final light level settings.
This is the case for most of the hospitality design projects Lu has done throughout his career.
